2019 Pastoral Mental Health Counseling Conference

Digital technologies, including AI, are changing what it means to be human. What are the implications for spiritual care and clinical practice? The conference will open a novel window on caring for the technological person in a digital age, helping us as practitioners, clergy, and educators navigate the new terrain.

Objectives:

*Acquire an understanding of what it means to be living in a techno-driven world, and how the rapid informational flow impacts our spiritual lives.
*Develop a framework for helping those in our care prevent brain fatigue and information burn-out, even as we become more dependent on our digital devices.
*Develop an understanding of the importance of contemplative spiritual practices for preserving and extending the human attentional capacity, which fosters relational and compassionate awareness.
